A dedicated skin cancer clinic is now available at the Jindabyne Medical Practice.
Dr Cath Newman, a long standing GP in the practice, completed a masters degree in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland in 2013 and has undertaken further surgical training. She is accredited with the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and is now running the ‘Elements Skin Cancer Clinic’ on a regular basis - starting on Thursdays.
This clinic offers a comprehensive service which includes full body skin checks & skin examination using dermatoscopy. Short term photographic monitoring of lesions is also available where appropriate . The service offers skin biopsies and both surgical & non-surgical treatment options in keeping with the latest trends and thinking – a service equivalent to that offered in larger, centralized skin cancer clinics. The clinic has the support of a visiting skin cancer surgeon who visits on a quarterly basis.

A routine skin check costs $125 (medicare rebate $ 71.70) and takes approximately 30mins. Skin Checks for Aged Pensioners are bulkbilled. Additional surgical procedures attract a private fee.
