Appointments
Please phone 6457 1221 between 8.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am – 12.00pm to make an appointment. Standard appointments can also be booked online 24/7 at www.jindabynemedical.com.au
A standard appointment is 15 minutes. If you need a longer appointment please let us know.
If you require an appointment to complete paperwork, a medical or some other complicated matter please inform our reception staff at the time of booking so adequate time can be allocated. For all our long appointments an SMS Reminder will be sent if you have consented and have a mobile number on file.
At times you may experience a waiting period due to Doctors tending to urgent or complex medical issues. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Patients that ‘urgently’ need to see a Doctor will be seen as walk-ins – we treat the appointment as Urgent and squeeze you in between booked appointments. At the time of presentation you will be advised that there may be a wait, but will be attended to as soon as possible. Non-urgent cases may need to wait with priortiy to booked patients but we will see you as soon as possible.
We are not a bulk-billing practice. Local Pension Card and Health Care Card holders are Bulk Billed. We also bulk-bill return visits for results and reviews. Services are required to be paid in full on the day of the consultation and can be made by Cash, EFTPOS, Cheque or Creditcard. All patients with a valid Medicare card will be refunded at the time of payment so that you refunded the eligible rebate fee.
Results
The Practice has a policy to recall and follow up patients with significant test results.
- We prefer that all patients come back to discuss their results
- Appointments for results ONLY are always bulk-billed
- If you cannot come in to discuss your results you can call to speak to the nurse AFTER 11.00am. The nurse will only tell you if the result is normal or if you need to come in to speak with the doctor. They cannot go into details over the phone.
- Call or make an appointment after 7 days unless you are advised to come in sooner
- If you are told your results are normal but you are still having symptoms please make an appoitment to see your doctor as you may need followup
- If your symptoms become worse please come in sooner - we will always see unwell patients on the day as urgent appointments.
Repeat Prescriptions
Prescriptions are not written without consultation unless your Doctor has given prior approval for a repeat prescription. This is for your safety. Generally if you have not been seen by a doctor within the last 6 months, then you would be required to make an appointment. At the time of requesting a script – details will be documented and given to the doctor. Generally it would take 24 hours to get a script request. A fee of $10 is charged for this service.
Communication Policy
Electronic Communications The practice will not send you confidential electronic communication without your consent. We need to ensure that your mobile number (and other patient information) is up to date at each visit to ensure that this information is sent to the correct number. Patients must be aware that if another person can access their mobile phone then the confidentiality of these communications cannot be protected by the practice.
Email is not a secure form of communication and we do not use this to communicate personal information to patients. Patients must be aware that any communication they direct to the Practice via email is also NOT secure and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
Complaints
The Practice is open to constructive feedback and will to take on board any complaints as they arise. Feedback can be provided anonymously in writing or via the suggestion box (located in the Waiting area). The Practice is committed to acknowledging, following through and implementating changes that enhance the effectiveness of our practice.
